March 18, 2011

Well tomorrow will be 2 weeks and I have lost 7.6 pounds so far. I have walked 6.8 kms to work twice this week, and I will be walking to work this morning again. Surprisingly, the extra energy put out doing exercise does not deplete me of energy, it actually gives me more energy. I really enjoy the way my body feels after I have a good work out. My lungs feel clear, all my senses are heightened. Plus all the walking time gives me valuable thinking time. Time that a normally a single mom would not get. I find I am not really craving anything not healthy. I am starting to get a little bored with the same old things though, so I got out my WW cookbook and I will try out a few new recipes. All is well with me today :)

One week down :D

Well I lost 5 pounds this week. I stayed true to my new lifestyle, ate very healthy and stuck by plan on Sparkpeople. I also met with Melissa (personal trainer) today for the first time. I had a good work out, I think that it will get harder as we go, but it was good for the first day. I am very optimistic and look forward to seeing less of me ;)

Day 2 - Done :)

Well the close to another day. I stayed on track and I went to a church function tonight. There are ALWAYS alot of yummy treats. I ate the veggies and a few crackers and cheese. I did give in to have a little treat there were yummy cookies and I had one. I think I showed great restraint :)

I am finding it hard tonight to not go make a midnight snack right before bed. But I will drink my water and tuck myself in. I told a friend today about my goals. I was a little nervous, but it went well.

Well getting sleepy so I need to turn in ~ Good night all :)

Day 1 - Done :)

Well it's the end of the first day. I stayed true and ate healthy. Drank my water. I still need to get some exercise in, but Rome wasn't built in a day. Besides I have an appointment with my new personal trainer on Friday.

I have been asking myself "What is different this time?" I have tried to lose weight countless number of times. So, what is different this time?

I am !! I have learned something about myself: I can do amazing things if I apply myself and really focus!!

A year ago I decided to take my 2 children on our first family vacation. I decided to take them to Walt Disney World in Florida. I was nervous at first that I wouldn't be able to do it and that I'd let them down. There were times where it looked near impossible financially, but I was SO determined that we would make it. We went from February 10-17, 2011. It was beyond amazing, it was magical. I have been dreaming of going since I was five years old, and it was everything I'd ever hoped for and more.

So, ya this time is different because I am going to take what I learned about myself and apply it here. I know that there will be times when it will feel really hard. But in the end it will feel so good that I had focus and determination. I am used to having a big snack before bed. I really like going to bed felling all full and comforted. It is much easier for me to then snuggle into a night's sleep. Well, tonight I had a cup of raw baby carrotts, and 2 glasses of water. Not exactly comfort food unless you're a rabbit :)

It's time to change things. My co-worker said something the other night. She said if you keep doing the same things you will get the same result, if you do things different you will get different results. Sounds simple, but it's so true.

So goodnight - I have to get up early to go to church tomorrow.
